Rape Crisis Outreach
Rape Crisis Outreach was a division of the Calcasieu Women's Shelter in Lake Charles, Louisiana. In 2011, the organization was renamed Oasis a Safe Haven for Survivors of Domestic and Sexual Violence.

I completed crisis intervention training to be present and supportive in the aftermath of sexual assault, from the time of the report through court proceedings and beyond.

Medical Advocacy
I met sexual assault survivors at area hospitals to provide support and information regarding medical procedures and the purpose of the forensic examination.

I accompanied individuals and their families in court to provide moral support and reassurance to them when their sexual assault cases were being considered.
